Detectives
Chief of Detectives : Joseph A. Kim
In March 2016, the Detective Bureau of the Liberty City Police Department (LCPD) underwent a restructuring, establishing a unified command for all investigatory operations to enhance crime reduction efforts. Under this reorganization, detective borough chiefs now oversee investigations conducted by precinct detective squads, narcotics boroughs, vice modules, and gang squads within each of the eight borough commands, ensuring seamless integration of investigative efforts.
The bureau's specialized divisions, not assigned to the borough commands, are also led by chiefs, contributing to a cohesive and coordinated approach to crime prevention, detection, and investigation throughout Liberty City. The Detective Bureau's responsibility encompasses the examination and evaluation of evidence to apprehend suspects and build solid cases against them. This highly specialized work often complements the efforts of police officers assigned to precincts.
Dedicated to maintaining high standards, the Detective Bureau of the LCPD ensures that each command conducts thorough, high-quality investigations in a timely manner. The bureau emphasizes efficiency, dedication, and professionalism in handling each investigation, contributing to the overall safety and security of Liberty City.
